Nature in La Clapère
The lush vegetation of the domain offers a multitude of
essences and perfumes, it’s a green oasis located
in the heart of a 50 hectares park.
The microclimate specific to the Vallespir allowed the development
of varieties quite unusual in metropolitan France.
Bamboos, palmers, acacias, mimosas, wild olive trees, agaves, cactuses,
aromatic plants, cork oaks, the list can’t be exhaustive.
The discovery is ensured along your walk at the edge of the river or
on the pathways which punctuate the campsite.
“Pyrénées méditerranéenes” would be the right term to talk about
the encounter between the mountain range and the sea.
This connection between such different climates and
areas creates a mosaic of landscapes.
This situation is accentuated by a geomorphology with
altitudinal contrasts: you can travel from the sea nivel, 0 feet,
to the Pic du Canigou, 9133 feet in less than 30 miles…
Land of the griffon and bearded vultures,
the mountain and alpine environment ensured thanks to
its rainfall and its winter snow,
the irrigation of a plain often dried up by the Tramontana wind.
La Clapère has always been mindful of encouraging a sustainable
tourism while preserving the site nature:
the fauna, the flora and the habitats that make up the biodiversity.
It’s a place of communion between the Nature and Mankind.
This natural refuge opens its door to you the time of your holidays…
